Rice Brazilian Style

During an episode of Mama Caruso Cooks Hacks and Tips Nati shared some of her mom's secrets for making authentic Brazilian comfort food.
Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • ¼ cup of chopped onion
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 2¼ cups of water
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
Instructions
  1. In a saucepan heat the olive oil on medium heat
  2. saute the onions and garlic until slightly brown (about 4-6 minutes)
  3. stir in the rice and let saute for a minute
  4. pour in the water and add butter
  5. cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until done to taste
